Requirements

Requirements to Join Our Team

Caregivers are matched to assignments based on the specific services a client needs. Depending on your role, you may need one or more of the following:

Core Requirements (All Caregivers)

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Successful completion of a Georgia criminal background check (required under Georgia PHCP licensing regulations)
  • Valid government-issued photo ID and eligibility to work in the United States
  • Two professional or personal references
  • Current TB (tuberculosis) screening or clearance
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire — we help coordinate training)
  • Completion of our paid caregiver orientation and onboarding program
  • Caregivers assigned to Children & Youth Support Services cases complete Georgia's Mandated Reporter training in addition to standard onboarding.

Personal Care

  • Comfort and experience assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene routines
  • Understanding of client dignity, privacy, and safe handling/transfer techniques

Homemaker Services

  • Ability to manage light housekeeping, laundry, and household organization
  • Reliable, detail-oriented approach to errands and home upkeep

Meal Preparation

  • Basic food safety and safe kitchen practices
  • Ability to follow dietary restrictions and therapeutic diet plans as instructed

Medication Reminders

Note: caregivers provide reminders only and do not administer medication, consistent with Georgia non-medical PHCP guidelines

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow schedules precisely

Companion Care

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patience and genuine interest in engaging clients socially and emotionally

Transportation (Additional — Assignment-Based Only)

Not required for all caregivers. Only applicable if your assignment includes driving clients to appointments or errands.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Current auto insurance
  • Clean driving record

Living Connects covers the cost of required background checks and initial certifications for hired caregivers as part of our onboarding process.

This is a W-2, on-call/PRN position — hours are not guaranteed and are based on client assignments matched to your location.

Caregivers may serve seniors aging at home, adults with disabilities, clients in post-surgery recovery, new mothers and families, people needing chronic condition support, respite for family caregivers, and children and teens with autism, ADHD, and other developmental or intellectual disabilities.

Personal Care Aide
Metro Atlanta, GA

Provide hands-on, non-medical daily living support, personal care assistance, medication reminders, and companionship for clients in their own homes. Support may include assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and everyday activities. Driving is not required unless specifically assigned.

Typical availability: 30+ hours/week based on current client need.

Populations served may include seniors, adults with disabilities, post-surgery recovery, new mothers and families, chronic condition support, respite for family caregivers, and children and teens with autism, ADHD, and other developmental or intellectual disabilities.

Key requirements: Personal Care, Daily Living Assistance, Medication Reminders, and Companionship.
